Ghana's President John Evans Atta Mills is backing the Black Stars to reach the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

The President visited the team's training base at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Friday and urged them not only to qualify for the 2010 World Cup but go all the way.

The team resumed preparations Friday morning for their June 20 meeting with Sudan in Omdurman.

“Thank you very much for doing us proud in Bamako. Now we hope you can,” the President told the team.

President Mills tasked the Black Stars not to limit their ambitions to just qualification.

“All of you are politicians now because you affect the mood of the nation positively. You have to help me win a bet I had with a Brazil minister that Ghana and Brazil will meet in the Final of the World Cup Final and Ghana will win.”

Ghana lead the 2010 World Cup qualifying group D with six points, three ahead of second placed Benin.
