President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has charged Black Stars players to show increased passion, aggression and desire in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

The Black Stars are billed to face Sudan in a two-legged tie, scheduled for October 10 and 15, 2024, as the race for Morocco 2025 heats up.

Ghana suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Angola at home, ending a 24-year unbeaten streak at the Baba Kumasi Sports Stadium in Kumasi, which followed the team's 1-1 draw against Niger.

In an open talk with the players and technical team on Tuesday October 8, 2024, the President admonished the players to secure victories against Sudan this month to put the campaign back on track, while urging them to prioritise nationalism.

"The honeymoon period is gone. It's time to show aggression, it's time to show desire, it's time to show the willingness to go the extra mile for Ghana," President Simeon-Okraku said

"It's imperative for me to remind all of us about who we are and the need for all of us to always remember that we are Ghanaians. And we are here because Ghana has called upon us to be here. If we remember that we are Ghanaians, you have your family members, you have your friends, you have your loved ones, Ghana should always be a name that should ring in your ears all the time.

It's important for us to remember that we belong to a privileged group. Today you are here, tomorrow you may not be here, but somebody will be here. It's important that we are here to save millions of people who need our help. millions, not 25, millions of people who need our help. What do they need from us? Good performances, passion, victory. That heals souls, that heals wounds, that heals families. This is what the people outside need from us.

The Black Stars will take on the Falcons of Jediane on Thuersday October 10, before traveling to Benina, Libya for the reverse fixture on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
