Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has commended the Beach Soccer team for their performance at the recently concluded Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2024.

The President touted the performance of the team when they paid a courtesy call on him at the Secretariat of the GFA on their return from Cairo, Egypt, on Monday October 28, 2024

The players and officials received a warm reception from the GFA President after placing a decent 5th in the overall standings.

Top scorer Alexander Adjei and goalkeeper Robert Nyadedzor presented their individual awards to President Simeon-Okraku.

He thanked the players, technical team and supporting staff for their commitment and passion for Beach Soccer in the country, which is growing and developing at a fast pace.

“We are proud of your achievements. Your hard work and determination have not gone unnoticed. This experience will serve as a valuable lesson for us moving forward.” President Simeon-Okraku said.

After placing seventh in the 2015 and 2016 Beach Soccer AFCONs, this is Ghana's best performance in the competition.

Ghana can take pride in their performance, with eyes now set on preparations for subsequent competitions, where the Black Sharks will aim to climb even higher in the ranks of African beach soccer.
