In a pivotal meeting held at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Headquarters, GFA President, Kurt Okraku, has engaged with the Committee for the African Schools Football Competition, setting a clear agenda for the upcoming tournament.
Addressing the Committee members, President Okraku expressed gratitude for their dedication and emphasized the significance of the competition in nurturing young talent across the continent.
With a firm resolve, he highlighted the challenges encountered in the past editions and stressed the need for proactive measures to enhance the tournament experience.
"I commend each of you for your commitment to this noble cause," President Okraku remarked.
"However, we cannot overlook the obstacles that hindered our success in previous tournaments. It is imperative that we address these challenges head-on to ensure a seamless and rewarding experience for all participants."
President Okraku entrusted GFA Deputy General-Secretary Alex Asante with the task of collaborating with the Committee to streamline the tournament regulations.
Emphasizing the need for transparency and efficiency, he encouraged the Committee to make their efforts visible, and by so doing, fostering trust and accountability within the football community.
In a strategic move to bolster talent development, the Vice-chairman of the Committee unveiled the modalities for the Regional Basic Schools Football Competitions, which will serve as a platform for identifying promising players for the GFA Elite Academy.
This initiative aims to harness the potential of young footballers, nurturing them into future football stars.
Notable figures such as Deputy General Secretary Alex Asante, Technical Director of the FA Professor Mintah, and director for the GFA Elite Academy Tetteh Zutah were pivotal participants in the discussion, lending their expertise and insights to chart the course for the competition's success.
