With only six weeks left in Premier League competition, the First Capital Plus Premier League table is primed to see some late-blooming clubs overcome teams who could falter alongside.

Many teams have recently experienced a lack of success and find themselves facing a fall on the table standings, while others inch closer and closer to relegation. From 2nd position through 13th are only separated by a 8 points, making anything possible in the coming weeks.

7th placed Hasaacas will host the 15th seeded Greater Olympics. Hasaacas has recently found themselves climbing the ladder and riding on their momentum of success. They have solidified their position as a team escaping relegation, whereas the Olympics have found themselves entrenched in what looks to be an early end to their season. A win could potentially bring them out of relegation but they would need sustained success to truly escape elimination.

Table-toppers AshGold will clash with 8th seeded Liberty Professionals at Len Clay Stadium. The Miners hope to shift their current slide as they have not achieved victory in their past three matches. This has brought other competitors within reach of overtaking AshGold and usurping their top position. Liberty hopes to keep their momentum from their 1-0 win last week over WAFA, and a win this week could put them as high as 4th on the table.

In the 4th position WAFA hopes to get back on track on Friday after suffering defeat to Liberty. They take on 12th ranked Bechem United who clings on to a two-point gap outside of the relegation area. WAFA however could climb as high as 2nd on the table with a victory, potentially surpassing Chelsea and Aduana.

2nd placed Berekum Chelsea host Medeama at Golden City Park in Sunyani in what should one of the most competitive matches this week. This competition has serious implications on table positions not only because Medeama could potentially jump to 4th on the ladder, but for Chelsea a victory could result in a new table-topper of the Premier League with AshGold only holding a two-point lead.

Aduana who are currently 3rd will travel to the Sunyani Stadium to clash with bottom ranked BA United. Aduana will attempt to keep their success going and a win could potentially bring them into a two-way tie with AshGold at the top of the table with 41 points.

At 5th position, Inter-Allies faces a similar future as WAFA in that a win would potentially help them climb to 2nd on the table into a two-way tie with Chelsea at 39 points. However 13th ranked Heart of Lions will hope to squander their climb, and continue their own recent climb coming of a 2-0 victory over Wa All Stars.

Coming off the loss to the Heart of Lions, Wa All-Stars hope to retain their mid-table status but a victory could potentially see them climb to a tie for 3rd with Aduana at 38 points.

They take on 10th placed NewEdubiase FC at Wa Sports Stadium, with Edubiase looking to potentially climb as high as 4th into a three-way tie with WAFA and Inter-Allies at 36 points.

The biggest clash of the weekend will however be at the Accra Stadium when Hearts of Oak host their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
