Competition : 2010 CAN/World Cup qualifiers
Teams: Ghana v Sudan
Match Venue: Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra
Date: 6 September 2009

Ghana stand the chance of stretching their fine form in the African qualifying with the hope of earning a place at the 2010 World Cup if results go their way on Sunday.
The Black Stars face Sudan in Accra as an expectant nation throws it support behind the side that made its World Cup debut in 2006.
There are currently six nations already confirmed as finalists at 2010, which includes hosts South Africa. But Ghana could be one of the confirmed candidates after the weekend’s round of matches.
The Black Stars are on the brink of booking a place in next year’s Nations Cup and summer's finals in South Africa depending on how it pans out in Group D as the Fifa World Cup qualifiers serve to determine the field for the continental championship with the top three finishers in each group qualifying for Angola.
Ghana will qualify for the 2010 World Cup if they beat Sudan in Accra and Mali draw against Benin in the other group game.
Despite an eye in Cotonou where Benin host Mali, expectations remain high in Accra but Milovan Rajevac, Ghana coach expects Sudan to play it tough as the Black Stars look for a fourth win on the trot.
“Sudan will be very motivated. They will be fighting for a place since they have some percentage of qualifying for the Nations Cup.
“Their CAN chances would motivate them and that’s normal. But for us, every next game is crucial. We don’t need to have bad results. But we have to defend the success we have earned so far,” Milovan Rajevac said.
