After their disappointing exit from the CAF Champions League last weekend, Asante Kotoko will now focus their attention on the local league where they are billed to take on Great Olympics on Sunday April 12.
The match promises to be very exciting considering the history that has existed between the two clubs over the years.
Kotoko will go into the match with the aim of winning back the hearts of their supporters who are still dispirited after their exit from continental football.
Olympics on the other hand will hope to march on after winning their last League games which has taken them to sixth on the League table.
In Accra, Hearts of Oak who are interestingly arch- rivals to both Kotoko and Olympics, will be on a mission of revenge on Sunday when they face Wa All Stars at the Accra Stadium on Sunday. Wa Allstars thrashed the Phobians 3-0 each in their home and away matches last season. Hearts however believe this is the time to avenge that score line but All Stars appear poised to secure another shocking win in Accra on Sunday.
The Phobians have been boosted with their impressive showing on the continental stage where they beat Senegalese side Olympique de Ngor 5-3 aggregate to advance to the next stage of the competition.
But Wa Allstars’ Premier League Coach of the Month (March), Jimmy Cobblah will have a few tricks up his sleeves.
Aduana Star SC will travel to Tarkwa as guests of Medeama in another game that promises to be entertaining.
Medeama whose striker Nathaniel Asamoah has been named as Premier League player of the month are 10th on the League log while Aduana Stars are third on the table.
Meanwhile League leaders Ashantigold will take on Inter Allies in the only match which will be played on Saturday.
An outstanding performance by Inter Allies gave them a 2-1 win over Hearts of Oak on Match day 12 and Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin’s side are aiming to stun the leaders at the Len Clay Stadium.
The Miners on the other hand are hoping to bounce back from the shocking 1-0 defeat they suffered in Sunyani against BA United and a win on Saturday could help restore their comfortable lead on top of the League log.
15th placed BA United will travel to Sogakope as guests of WAFA and they will hope to build upon the important win they secured at home in their last League match.
7th placed WAFA however will not be ready to lose any points at home as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Hasaacas in their last outing.
At the Bechem Park, Heart of Lions’ hold on the second spot will be tested when they face 11th plced Bechem United.
In other matches, Berekum Chelsea will host Sekondi Hasaacas at the Golden City Park in Berekum while New Edubiase travel to Dansoman to face Liberty Professionals in the May day 13 round of matches which will be played on Sunday.
