The Premier League returns this midweek after finishing its break and aside the player signings and change of coaches, the charge for the title remains unchanged.
With Clubs adding some extra star-signings to maintain their dominant form and drive their ambitions, the big boost ahead of kickoff is the signing on of a new headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League.
Financial backing was the main concern for Clubs but with the signing of the deal that will make First Capital Plus Bank, the league's sponsor, the kitty of all sides will be swelled as they push on.
The break certainly allowed the Clubs enough time to tweak their squads as most sides play catch-up to champions, Asante Kotoko, who have opened a 7-point lead at the top.
Dwarfs, AshantiGold and bottom side Inter Allies will not be in action on Wednesday as their opponents, Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Medeama are off duty in midweek due to their participation in CAF Continental-Club competitions.
Five games will come off with the top-liner coming off in Accra where Hearts of Oak attempt to put their title chase back on track with a game against Wa All Stars, who are one point above safety.
The mighty Phobians, in third place and 7 points behind rivals, Kotoko, will take to the field in Accra eager to right the wrongs of their previous performance in Wa where they lost 3-0 to Wa All Stars when the Blues arrive at the Accra Stadium.
The expectation in the Rainbow camp is rising as the Phobians stay divided over the ability of former Club favourite, Mohammed Polo, to steer them to the title.
Heart of Lions will start the second half of the season fourth, 10 points behind the side the top but with the takeover by Randy Abbey now complete, the Kpando side will be expected to push on from where they left off when they host Liberty Professionals.
At the Essipon Stadium, Hasaacas' top-four hopes will be tested by Amidaus Professionals, who are just above the relegation bracket with a better head-to-head record.
New Edubiase have failed to excite as they continue to experience mixed results but they will be hopeful of starting strongly at home when they welcome Aduana Stars to the Gyamfi Park.
Finally, Bechem United and King Faisal will strut it out in Bechem to wrap up the start of the second round fixtures.
