Ahead of their first clash of the season over the weekend, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will face tricky tests in the midweek line up of matches to be played on Wednesday.
The defending Premier League Champions will travel to Wa as guests of All Stars with the home-side unbeaten at the Wa Park so far this season.
The two sides have met a total of fourteen times with Allstars emerging victorious on two occasions whiles Kotoko have secured eight wins with their most recent win coming at the Wa park last season. Four matches between the two clubs have ended in draws.
Currently placed third on League table, Kotoko will go into the game with an impressive record at the Wa Park having won there three times whiles fourth placed Allstars themselves have only managed a solitary win over Kotoko at home.
Hearts of Oak on the other hand will play in their first Accra derby when they host Liberty Professionals on Wednesday.
After serving their two-match home ban, the Phobians will be playing their first match at their favorite Accra Stadium for the first time this season and Coach Herbert Addo’s side will expect to put their recent setbacks behind them and hope for a win over their Dansoman-based opponents.
Having met a total of 30 times in the Ghana Premier League, Hearts of Oak have enjoyed dominance over their regional rivals with 18 wins whiles Liberty have won 8 times and 4 draws.
However Liberty who are 6th on the League table will expect to add to the woes of Hearts of Oak despite suffering a 2-0 defeat at the Accra Stadium last season when they came as an away side.
In Sekondi, Hasaacas will expect to put this weekend’s defeat to Hearts of Lions behind them when they take on League leaders Aduana Stars at the Essipong Stadium.
Aduana Stars are the only unbeaten club so far this season with three wins and draw.

At the Tema Stadium, Inter Allies and New Edubiase who are both a point above the relegation zone, will battle for all three points to improve their position on the League table.
After losing their position on top of the table on Saturday, Ash Gold will host Bechem United at the Len Clay stadium where they have enjoyed a 100 percent record this season.
The two sides have met twice since Bechem United joined the topflight last season. United beat AshGold 2-0 at the Len Clay stadium after a 2-2 draw at the Bechem Park earlier last season.
Great Olympics who have also won a single game this season, will hope to improve their position on the league table when they travel to Berekum as guests of Chelsea.
Bottom club, WAFA will push for all points at their Sogakope home grounds when they host Medeama in the midweek round of matches.
