Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is refusing to get carried away by the form guide of their opponents, Nigeria Thursday's African Nations Cup semi-finals.
Both West African nations face each other in the first semi-final clash at the November 11 Stadium in Luanda.
The winner will face holders Egypt or Algeria in Sunday’s final in Luanda.
Despite Ghana's opponents having endured a torrid time at the competition, Rajevac expects the Super Eagles to be lifted with the place in the final lurking.
“Though they (Nigeria) did not play so well in the game against Zambia, it will be a big mistake to conclude that they will repeat the same performance in the next game against Ghana,” Rajevac said.
Ghana’s last taste of the Nations Cup final came some 28 years ago. The Black Stars hope to reach the final where they would be much closer to lifting a possible fifth continental title.
To achieve this, Rajevac says his young Ghana team needs to stick together and execute the job.
“We have to be cautious in the game and execute our strategy with the needed perfection.”
Ghana, who won their last Nations Cup in 1982, missed the chance of reaching the finals two years ago when they went out to Cameroon in the semi-finals.
The Black Stars are without several key experienced players with Rajevac having to rely some of the Under-20 world champions.
Twelve members of the Ghana squad at the 2010 Nations Cup are making their tournament debut.
And though not fancied to even reach this stage, the Black Stars have shown enough composure after losing their opener 3-1 to Ivory Coast.
"I took eight players from the squad who played at the Under-20 [World Cup] and they have proved their quality, they are tough," Rajevac said of his new generation of Black Stars.
