As Milovan Rajevac continues to prepare his Black Stars team for the weekend’s 2010 World Cup qualifiers, the coach believes that his team has to stay focused and play to pick up maximum points at home to Sudan.

Rajevac has had the opportunity of seeing his players perform for their clubs before the squad met up this week but he is keen on getting the best out of the Black Stars as he expects his players to follow his plans to the latter.

“I expect them to give their maximum. They have to give their best, fulfill every assignment and deliver on hearing the national anthem,” the Ghana coach told www.ghanafa.org after his first training session on Tuesday.

The corresponding fixture in Khartoum saw Ghana finish 2-0 winners, a game which ensured that the Black Stars maintained their impressive record at the summit of Group D with three wins out of three matches and no goals conceded.

That performance boosted the tam’s World Cup chances and has somehow increased the level of expectation from fans yet Rajevac is approaching the Sudan match with the same seriousness like all past games.

“There is no pressure. The team needs to focus and approach the game with the same seriousness,” Rajevac said.

“We have to gain a good result, make good our quality on the pitch. And, we must be careful, be smart and think about our position and how to open up our opponents. It won’t be an easy match.”

Sudan might be bottom of the four-team table but the Serbian is expecting tough contest.

“Every team that Ghana plays gives something extra. That’s normal in football but we must be positive and ready to play.”

“I keep on saying that there are three games to be played, thus 9 points left to play for and there are a lot of complications in situations like that.

“I am not interested about talk of having qualified. I only need results and we have to deliver a good performance.

“When theoretically we qualify, we can say we did it. So far, my team has been doing a great job. But the future would confirm our qualification.”
