A safeguarding training session was held for participants of the free License D coaching course in the Western Region. The training, aimed at ensuring the protection and well-being of all individuals involved in football, took place as part of the broader curriculum of the coaching course.

This crucial training covered topics such as child protection, ethical coaching practices, and the responsibilities of coaches in creating a safe environment for all players, particularly minors. The session emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards of conduct and integrity in all football-related activities.

The License D coaching course, which is part of the Football Association's initiative to develop grassroots coaching talent, is being offered at no cost to participants in the Western Region.

The inclusion of safeguarding training underscores the GFA's commitment to the holistic development of coaches, ensuring they are equipped with not only the technical skills but also the ethical and moral guidelines necessary for nurturing young talents in the sport.

The course is expected to conclude with a final assessment, after which successful participants will be awarded the License D coaching certification.
