The Safeguarding Unit of the GFA commenced an intensive safeguarding training for participants of the ongoing GFA License D Coaching Course, which forms part of the requirement for the certification.

The GFA Safeguarding Officer, Obed Tuffour, led the capacity-building session with its sole intention to educate and inform participants about the GFA’s commitment to the principle that all children/young players have the right to participate in football in an environment free from harm or abuse.

The first among the many sessions took place at the Opoku-Ware Senior High School for Coaches of Women Division One League Clubs and Colts Clubs in the Ashanti Region.

Participants were informed on the need to create a safe and enabling environment for children, young players, and the vulnerable to enjoy and advance their mushrooming careers.

This training will continue at various venues across football regions for Women’s Division One league clubs and Colts club coaches.

The trainings at the Regional Football Associations will run from the 13th August to 4th September, 2024.
