Black Stars defender, Hans Adu-Sarpei has pulled out of Ghana’s international friendly against Mexico due to a back injury.

Sarpei picked up the injury while playing in the German Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen.

The withdrawal by the full-back leaves Claude Le Roy with a 17-man squad for Wednesday’s game against the Mexicans at the Craven Cottage in London.

The Mexico friendly would be the first match for Ghana, bronze medalist at the Nations Cup, since their elevation to their status as Africa’s best footballing team.

Ghana will use the game as one the preparatory matches toward the 2010 World Cup and African Nations qualifiers which begins later in June.
