A Ghana delegation will arrive in Egypt on Thursday to evaluate the security measures put in place for next week's World Cup play-off.
Ghana, after protesting against the scheduling of the November 19 match in Cairo sought assurances from FIFA about the security plans for the game.
At a meeting between a delegation from Ghana and FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke in Togo Monday, it was agreed that Ghanaian authorities will meet their counterparts in Cairo this week to update all stakeholders with first-hand details about the plan in place.
““What we have decided in order to bring even more feeling of insurance for Ghana is that we will organize in the next 48 hours a visit led by the President of the Ghana Football Association in Egypt to meet with our [FIFA] security officer but also the Egyptian authorities,” FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke said at the meeting attended by Sports Minter Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi and football ambassador Abedi Ayew Pele on Monday.
“And for this delegation from Ghana to have a full introduction of the system which will be in place for the game so they can see with their own eyes, they can feel the level of organization which will be in place for the game.
“I think it is important and that is the way to make Ghana feel comfortable to move to Egypt to play this game.”
Ghana won the first-leg play-off 6-1 in Kumasi last month. The aggregate winner will qualify for the finals in Brazil.
