Show the World that there are quality players in our leagues - GFA President charges Black Galaxies
GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku has encouraged the Black Galaxies to be proud ambassadors of Ghana football and show to the world that there are super talents in Ghana’s domestic leagues.
The Black Galaxies will begin their TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) campaign on Sunday January 15, when they come up against the Barea of Madagascar at the Stade Chahid Hamlaoui in Constantine at 8pm(7pm GMT).
Speaking at the team’s hotel in Constantine on Sunday ahead of kick off, the GFA President thanked the Technical team and players for all the sacrifices and hardwork they have put in the preparations for the competition.
“We thank the team for all the sacrifices you’ve made up to this stage. The GFA and the Government have not taken your sacrifices lightly. We appreciate that you have sacrificed to be here to represent our dear country”.
“We are here to make ourselves proud and to make our country great and strong. We are here to show to the rest of Africa that we are Ghana”.
“We are prepared for this. Throughout the journey the FA and the government has ensured that this team is well prepared”.
The GFA President also lauded the team for their serene and successful pre-tournament tour and admonished them to demonstrate that they are ready for the competition.
“You’ve have a very serene camping from Ghana to Egypt to Algeria. It’s time for us to show. I do not doubt the quality of the technical team and the players.”
“Let us not take any opponent lightly. Let’s go into today’s match and the competition focused to the last second.
“What Ghanaians expect is warriors who will go on the pitch and fight for our country. This is what Ghana expects. I have no doubt that we are ready and I believe that we will walk out of the tunnel as men who will fear no foe”.
“I pray the Almighty God will reward all the hard work and sacrifices that has gone into your preparations. You are proud ambassadors from our league and show that there are super talents in Ghana's leagues that must be watched by the world”, he added.
The Black Galaxies are in Group C and will take on Sudan and Morocco in subsequent groups after today’s opener against Madagascar.
