Team news: Wakaso, Djiku start against South Africa

Coach Milovan Rajevac has named Mubarak Wakaso in the starting line-up for tonight’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifier against South Africa at the Cape Coast stadium.

The experienced midfielder who came on a substitute in Thursday’s game against Ethiopia is the only new face in Ghana’s line up for the match. He places Richmond Boakye Yiadom who started against Ethiopia in Johannesburg. Wakaso will partner Baba Idrissu in the heart of Ghana’s midfield.

Also making the line up is Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku who missed the game against Ethiopia. He return to the starting line up after serving his one match ban.

Captain Andre Ayew will lead the team on Sunday night - his 100th appearance for Ghana. Jordan Ayew leads Ghana’s attack with Kamadeen Sulenmana and Mohammed Kudus completing the lists for the Black Stars.
