It was a heated finish in the meeting between Real Tamale United and Tema Youth at the Essipong Stadium as the match ended 1-1 on Sunday.
A goal by the hand of Francis Narh in the 90th minute which was initially adjudged to be fair was later on struck out after consultations between the referee David Kumah and his assistant.
With the scores at one-apiece following Salim Sakara's 77th minute goal which cancelled out Tema Youth's lead by Bright Adjei, the final minutes almost ruined the match.
Playing with 10 men following the dismissal of Richard Ocran for a second bookable offence in the 84th minute, RTU were desperate to cling onto a point.
And they were riled by the decision to award the goal as players of RTU protested and stormed off the pitch as the referee spoke to his assistant on the lines.
After brief deliberations, referee Kumah overturned the decision to award the goal and ruled that Narh had pushed the ball into the net aided by his arm as play was resumed.
