Upper West Region host first ever GFA Licence D Course at Wa

The first batch of trainees for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) License D Coaching Course for the Upper West Region has officially opened in Wa. The training course which began on Monday, August 7, will end 14, 2023.

In all, about thirty-four applicants who applied through the Upper West Regional Football Association (CRFA) are taking part in the training – which is the basic certificate that is required to coach at the Juvenile level and for future top up course ranging from Licence C to Pro Licence.

Some of the key training areas include growth and development of young footballers, methods of coaching and cardio vascular resuscitation/administration of first aid.

Participants are also being taken through series of practical sessions. The sessions are led by selected GFA Coaching Instructors and Coach Educators including Director of Coaching Education, Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah.

This second batch of training for the Region will take off on Tuesday, August 15 and end on Tuesday, August 24, 2023.
