Women's Football Strategy: Division One Ladies complete licence D coaching Course in Ashanti Region
Seven female coaches from the Regional Women’s Division One League clubs in the Ashanti Region have successfully completed a fully funded Licence D Coaching Course, an initiative under the education pillar of the GFA Women’s Football Strategy.
It could be recalled that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) under the Ghana Football School wing decided that, all Regional Women’s Division One League clubs across the country will be beneficiaries of a fully funded Licence D Coaching Course.
A request was then made for Women's Division One League clubs and the Regional Women’s Division Two League clubs to present a lady each for the course.
Janet Adu Agyemang (Fabulous Ladies), Mavis Kessewa (Nana Afia Kobi Ladies), Ajara Haruna (M.H United Ladies), Felicia Adjei (Soccer Angels Ladies), Charity Mensah (Osei Tutu Ladies) Belinda Kpoglo (Dynamite Ladies) and Marilynn Ama Bleppony (Arm of God Ladies) who work with Women’s lower tier sides in the Ashanti Region are the first set to benefit from the initiative.
Beneficiaries are expected to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the fundamentals of coaching, First Aid and cardiovascular resuscitation training, and the concept of grassroots football as stipulated in the GFA Women Football Strategy.
More female coaches from across the nine remaining Regional Women’s DOL and Division Two Leagues are expected to enroll into the fully funded programme in the coming days.
