Soccer Intellectuals played host to Elmina based Sea Lions FC over the weekend in a keenly contest game at the Adu Yaw Assasan Park in match day 2 of the National Women’s League.
Soccer Intellectuals went into the game beaming with a-lot of confidence after beating Immigration Ladies 1- 0 on the road in the opening fixture of the season.
The game started on a bright note with the first big chance falling to Regina Sam but she failed to find the target after a good block from Blessing Agbomadzi of Sea Lions.
The two 2 teams created good goal scoring opportunities but were erratic upfront ending the first half goalless.
The second half started with both teams exhibiting great skills and holding each other on the breaks till the 85th where Dorcas Kumiwah brought down Mary Essiful in the penalty box which Linda Addai nearly converted.
This win gives Soccer Intellectuals their second win of the season with goalkeeper Selina Abalansa keeping two clean sheets.
Sea Lions defender, Cecilia Hagan was crowned NASCO Player of the Match.
