Head Coach Yussif Basigi is confident that the Black Princesses will bounce back from their opening loss to Austria and secure points against Japan in their second Group E match. Despite Japan's convincing win in their previous match, Basigi's team is focused on approaching the game with a positive mindset and executing their tactical plan to contain Japan's offense.

The team is determined to put the previous defeat behind them and play a good game to keep their hopes of progressing from the group stage alive.

“After our defeat to Austria, we have taken the pain to psych the players up to put the game behind them and look forward to the next one. Many will see us as underdogs because the Japanese won massively. We see ourselves as serious contenders and however we going to approach the game as it is’’ Basigi said.

‘’The players have put the first game behind them even if we had won, we will still put it behind us and look forward to playing a very good game tomorrow. We have map up a tactical ploy as to how to contain the Japanese’’.

‘’We look at the team they played against and look at our strength and we think there is no fears at all. The players believe in themselves and are ready to deliver’’.

‘’We have made them to understand that a defeat tomorrow will not be good for us so we should take our time and play the game as we have asked them to do. Defeat is not part of our agenda” he added.

Ghana will play their second group E game against Japan on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 22:00GMT.
