Black Satellites step up African Games preparations with 5-0 win over DOL side

Division One League side Kings Palace FC could not pose a threat to the Black Satellites as the National U-20 male team cruised to a 5-0 win in their friendly match played at the Akotex Park in Akosombo on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

This was one of the test games for the Black Satellites as they continue to prepare for the upcoming 13th African Games, Accra 2023 Male football tournament which will be staged from March 8-23, 2024.

Kings Palace FC are also preparing for the resumption of the Access Bank Division One League which will begin this weekend.

After a goalless first half, Coach Desmond Ofei's side came out from the dug out all blazing with Dreams FC's Abdul Aziz getting the opener for the side.

Thought FC's Jerry Afriyie who scored a brace in the team's friendly against Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday, scored another double to take the scores to 3-0.

Ex Right to Dream Academy player Abdul Hakeem and FC Samartex youngster Michael Ephson then added to the tally to give the Black Satellites an emphatic 5-0 win in the game.

After weeks of team building and preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, the technical team is making efforts to arrange some test games for the team as they enter the final stages of preparations for the competition.

So far, the Black Satellites have engaged in friendly matches against some topflight and lower tier sides.
