Ghana's U15 boys’ team saw their dreams of reaching the final of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship come to an end on Friday afternoon following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Tanzania in the semifinals at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The tightly contested encounter, played over two 20-minute halves, saw Tanzania make an immediate impact, scoring within the opening minute to seize an early lead. Despite Ghana's determined efforts to find an equalizer, the Tanzanian defense stood resolute, effectively shutting down any comeback attempts.

The loss was a bitter blow for the young Ghanaian side, who had been in scintillating form during the group stages, winning all three of their matches and entering the semifinals with high hopes of going all the way.

While the defeat ends their quest for the title, the team still has an opportunity to finish the tournament on a high when they compete in the bronze medal match. They will take on Uganda in Saturday's third-placed match at the University of Ghana.

After a promising campaign marked by energy, skill, and team spirit, the focus now shifts to securing a podium finish.

Ghana will aim to regroup quickly, take the positives from their journey so far, and end their tournament with a performance to be proud of.
