FC AshantiGold 04 have officially been crowned champions of Zone Two in the Access Bank Division One League after their Matchday 30 clash with King Faisal at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. The fixture doubled as a coronation game for the Miners.

Fans turned out in their numbers to celebrate the club’s return to the top flight, creating an electric atmosphere in Obuasi. Despite having already secured the title, coach Abdul Karim Zito urged his side to finish the season strongly. AshantiGold dominated but struggled to convert their chances for much of the game.

The Miners came out stronger in the second half and found a dramatic breakthrough deep into stoppage time. Kojo Antwi scored the winner in the 90+7th minute to seal a memorable end to the campaign.
