Competition: 2012 African Nations Cup Qualifier
Teams: Sudan v Ghana
Venue: Hilal Stadium - Omdurman
Date: October 8, 2011
Time: 13:00 GMT [1:00PM local Time]
Assistant Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah insists the Black Stars will put in a big performance when they meet Sudan in the final 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier at the Hilal Stadium in Omdurman on Saturday.
Ghana top in the table, leading their opponents on goal difference but have everything to play for as they need just a point to qualify as winners of Group I for next year's finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
But Saturday's opponents, Sudan, also have a chance of qualifying if they win the home tie, a situation which makes the climax of the qualifying campaign a rather tough game to tackle.
Despite needing a point, Appiah has vowed that the Black Stars not sit back as they push for one of the 10 qualifying slots remaining.
"Technically I think our boys are very good so when we get the chances, we will put them in,” the assistant Ghana coach said.
Apart from the co-hosts, who participate automatically, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso and newcomers Botswana have qualified for the finals which starts on January 21.
Appiah expects a tough finish to the campaign after Ghana drew goalless at home against Sudan in the reverse game.
"After playing them in the first game we knew there were a good side, but we never thought they could be at par with us on top.
“The mere fact that they have been able to win all their games after the draw with us means that they are a very good side, so it is not a team you can underestimate."
The Black Stars arrived in Sudan on Thursday and will train at the Hilal Stadium today.
