The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has paid a courtesy visit to the family of the late Sylvester Nii Sabahn Quaye, former Team Manager of the Black Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak.
The GFA delegation was led by Executive Council Members, Nana Sarfo Oduro and Samuel Aboabire. They were accompanied by Malcolm Apeadu, Director of the GFA Foundation, and Keziah Afosa Agyekumwaa, Head of Human Resource and Administration.
The visit was to commiserate with the bereaved family and to express the Association's deepest condolences for the loss of a man who dedicated his life to Ghana football.
Speaking on behalf of the GFA, Nana Sarfo Oduro described the late Nii Sabahn Quaye as a passionate and committed football administrator whose contributions to the national teams and to Hearts of Oak will be fondly remembered.
"The Ghana Football Association has lost a true servant of the game. Nii Sabahn Quaye served Ghana with humility, dedication and love. On behalf of the President and the Executive Council, we wish to extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family," he said.
The family expressed their appreciation to the GFA for the support and for honouring the memory of their beloved.
The late Nii Sabahn Quaye served as Team Manager of the Accra Hearts of Oak for many years and also held the same position at the Black Stars level, where he was highly respected for his professionalism and fatherly role to players.
Sylvester Nii Sabahn Quaye passed away on Sunday, June 28, at the age of 77, after a period of illness.
