Asamoah Gyan is hoping his impressive form at club level can help him maintain his quest of aiding Ghana's Nations Cup ambition.
Ghana will be attempting to win the African title for the fifth time with the last cup success coming in 1982.
The Black Stars are tipped as one of the favourites at the 2012 finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Gyan's recent fine scoring form for club, Al Ain coming so close to the start of the Nations Cup would be tested during the competition set to start on January 21.
And the Ghana striker has told KickOffGhana.com that he is delighted with his form and fitness.
"I'm feeling good right now getting myself in form and keeping my fitness level up. It is important not only for my team Al Ain but its also preparing me for the AFCON where I am hopeful of scoring goals for my country," Gyan said.
Ghana's first 2012 African Nations Cup game will be against newcomers, Botswana, in Franceville on January 24 in in Group D.
Goran Stevanovic's side will follow up their opener with fixtures against West African rivals, Mali four days later and Guinea on February 1.
