Under-19 female team captain, Diana Ankomah did not only lead Ghana to victory in opening group game in the women’s football competition at the All Africa Games on Monday but jump into the lead in the goal chart.
The Black Princesses captain top the standings with two goals to a her credit after the first round of matches at the tournament currently on-going in Algeria.
Diana Ankomah, powered Ghana who were down by a lone goal after 10 minutes back into the game when she drew level on the 15th minute mark.
She continued her fine form on the day when he doubled up for Ghana to win the game 2-1 for the Under-19 team who are representing the nation at the women’s football competition at the 9th All Africa Games.
This is the second time in succession that women are playing at the All Africa Games in the football after the 2003 event and the first for Ghana.
The Games, which represents Africa’s version of the Olympic Games draws lots of countries to participate in a host of sporting events.
