Ghana's campaign at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup suffered a blow after the Black Princesses went down 4-2 to Korea Republic in Group D.
The result in the other group game between US and Switzerland, which the Americans won 5-0 means Ghana has a slim chance of qualification to the quarter-finals.
Ghana needs a big win in the final group match against Switzerland and hope the US lose heavily in the other match to seal progress.
The Black Princesses, with one point, twice took the lead before succumbing to the defeat.
A lob by Deborah Afriyie in the 26th minute beat Moon So-Ri for the opener but in the 41st minute, the Koreans managed to draw level through Ji So-Yun from a freekick which looked as an obvious offside.
Back from the break, Elizabeth Cudjoe restored Ghana's lead in the 56th minute.
But the Koreans struck the equaliser six minutes later as they added two more goals in the 70th minute through Kim Jin-Young and Ji with three minutes remaining.
