The Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG) Oldies League has reached its thrilling semi-final stage, with two exciting fixtures scheduled for this weekend at the La Mac Dan AstroTurf. The tournament, which has been a showcase for retired footballers in the greater Accra Region, is set to deliver intense action as the remaining teams vie for a place in the final.

In the first semi-final match, Madina Oldies will take on SCC Sunday Stars Oldies on Saturday, with kick-off set for 15:00 GMT. Both teams have shown remarkable skill and determination throughout the competition, and this encounter promises to be a tightly contested affair.

The second semi-final will take place on Sunday, when Ashaiman Oldies face La Salem Oldies. With both sides eager to secure a spot in the final, fans can expect a fierce battle on the field.

The GFA Foundation partnered with the Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG) last year to support the league, making it the second year in since the foundation partnered the RENFAG.

The Association has provided trophies, medals, and plaques for the winners and award-winning categories, as well as footballs for the competition, a commitment that continues this season.

The RENFAG Oldies League has not only been a platform to celebrate the contributions of retired footballers but also an opportunity for the veterans to continue showcasing their love for the game.

Fans will have the opportunity of watching players like Kotei Blankson who previously played for Liberty Professionals, Jonathan Quartey who previously played for Goldfields and Kaizer Chiefs, Edward Sasu who previously played for Great Olympics, James Tagoe, Adolph Adjei, Kojo Lee and many others who will feature for La Salem Oldies.

For Ashaiman Oldies, former New Edubiase star Isaac Boakye, Charles Dzisah and Michael Appiah Kubi who played in India and Thailand respectively will be in action.

Former Asante Kotoko skipper Godwin Ablordey, Yaw Akoto, Nicholas Addo and Sabashi who previously featured for Accra Hearts of Oak will remind their fans of their good old days.

Football enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating which teams will make it to the final and ultimately claim the championship title as the semi-finals unfolds.
