Substitute Kwabena Owusu was named as the best player in Ghana’s 2-0 win over Mali in the last Group A match of the U23 AFCON in Egypt.
Owusu who came on in the second half scored twice to give Ghana the all-important win.
Thursday’s win over Mali ensured Ghana’s qualification to the semifinals stage after Egypt also defeated Cameroon 2-1 in the other Group A match.
The Spain based forward shot the Black Meteors into the lead in the 73rd minute with a header and doubled in 86th minute.
He becomes the second Black Meteors player to win the award after Evans Mensah won the MVP award in Ghana’s opening match against Cameroon.
