U-15 Girls reach Final of CAF African Schools Football Championship with thrilling win over South Africa
Ghana’s U15 girls team have advanced to the final of the CAF African Schools Football Championship after a thrilling 3-2 victory over defending champions South Africa in Friday's semi-final contest at the University of Ghana.
The match, played with high intensity, saw Ghana take the lead early in the first half. However, South Africa responded with an equaliser to level the score, briefly shifting momentum in their favour. But Ghana’s young talents quickly regained control of the game, netting two more goals to establish a 3-1 advantage.
Despite a late push by South Africa, which saw them score a consolation goal, the Ghanaian girls held firm to secure a memorable win and book their place in the final.
The team’s discipline, creativity, and resilience were evident throughout the encounter, as they dealt effectively with the pressure from their more experienced opponents.
This is an impressive win for the Ghana girls, who have shown steady progress in the competition.
The girls will now prepare for the final against Uganda with renewed belief as they aim to clinch the continental title and crown a remarkable campaign.
