WOMEN’S FOOTBALL STRATEGY: Female Football Administrators share their views on Course framework

Female Football Administrators participating in the ongoing specialized GFA/FIFA Capacity Building Workshop for Regional Women's Division One clubs have admitted that knowledge acquired during the workshop will be beneficial to their work in their various clubs.

After going through those rigorous theoretical sessions, here is what a few of the club administrators have to say to GFA Communications;

Rabiatu Sulley - Besiktas Ladies FC

“During the workshop, we did learn a lot and I know what I have learn will benefit my club in putting up a better management. I hope that this workshop can be organized frequently for us in women football so we can improve the game in Ghana’’.

Bernice Segla - Thunder Queens FC

“This capacity building workshop has made me learn a lot about leadership and what leadership entails. I have also learnt about strategic planning. I hope that I will be able to help my team plan well with these strategies. Also, this training will help me strategize well so my club improves from Division One to the next level’’.

“Being part of this capacity building for administrators has really been insightful, because I have really learnt a lot most especially the part that has got to do with leadership. There were so many things I thought I knew as a leader but being part of this program has really taught me some other aspect. I’ve also learnt about strategic planning and the SWOT analysis is the most interesting of all, it has also made me realize that I would have to consider the SWOT analysis when managing my club. Thus, to know the strength, the weaknesses, opportunities and threats and by going through these four major steps, I can improve upon my administrative skills as a manager”.

“Thumps up to the organizing body of this program, a very good initiative to develop women’s capacity in women’s football. Previously we could see that a lot of men were dominating the women’s game whiles we have a lot of women whose capacity could be built. We say bravo to the GFA President for initiating this great move in order to develop our capacity in the game. To me this program has been informative and educative as a new administrator. Some of the things that I have learn is that I have to know my value as an individual, know my strength, the weaknesses, opportunities and threats and be able to use emotional intelligence in order to understand my work. I have been enlightened that whenever we are about to start a season, I have to put down a strategic plan in order to know the teams’ strengths and weaknesses in order to achieve the necessary result. It has been very inspirational and educative program.”

“It is always good to acquire knowledge, so for me am grateful to the Ghana Football Association and FIFA for this wonderful opportunity. Through this program, I have learnt about using the strategic plan and SWOT Analysis.
