Ghana Football Association President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku led a successful meeting between officials of giants, Accra Hearts of Oak SC, and Asante Kotoko SC to discuss matters of mutual interest, on Monday, February 17, 2025.
The engagement involving the two biggest Ghanaian clubs took place at the Headquarters of the Football Association.
The Football Association and the two clubs share the same position on a wide range of proposals sent by the two teams for consideration.
The two clubs noted with appreciation that the GFA has already addressed the safety and security aspects of their proposals in the newly introduced Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocol 2025, which has since been shared with the clubs and all stakeholders of the Premier League.
The other proposals centered on ideas and concerns from the two clubs aimed at improving both the operations of the GFA and the clubs as well as the broader football ecosystem in Ghana, most of which the GFA has already done extensive work on.
The GFA updated the clubs on the work done so far on the issues, for example, on the Autonomous Premier League and the issue on VAT. The meeting agreed to work together with all the other Premier League clubs for the successful attainment of those objectives.
The GFA expressed its willingness to welcome any proposals and reforms that will improve the quality and professionalism of the game across the country.
The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku, chaired the meeting, He was joined by Vice-President, Mark Addo, and General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq.
Asante Kotoko SC was represented by Interim Management Committee Chairman Nana Apinkra and IMC Member and Head of Sporting Affairs, who is also a GFA Executive Council Member, James Kwesi Appiah
Accra Hearts of Oak SC were also represented by Board Members Akwasi Agyemang and Vincent Sowah Odotei as well as General Manager Delali Anku-Adiamah.
