The National Under-16 team of Ghana shall participate in the upcoming Guadeloupe U16 Invitational Tournament scheduled for May 2025.
This move is aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the team and providing valuable international experience for the young players, who were selected based upon their profiles matching criteria captured using the Ghana Football DNA (philosophy) and the GFA's implementation of the FIFA Talent Identification Scheme (TDS).
Participating in the tournament will offer the team, which has been going through an initial preparatory phase, an opportunity to test their skills against top-level opposition, gain exposure to different playing styles, and develop their tactical awareness.
The Guadeloupe U16 Invitational Tournament is expected to attract teams from various countries, providing a platform for Ghana's young players to showcase their talents and learn from their peers. Teams from Mexico, France, Brazil, Ivory Coast and Togo shall be part of the tournament.
This tournament will be an essential step in the development of the team, helping to prepare them for future international competitions. By participating in this tournament, the team aims to:
