Accra hearts of Oak picked a point against WAFA at the Red bull arena in Sogakofe. The game which ended in a 0-0 draw saw WAFA struggling and were not their usual goal scoring selves as they allowed the visitors to take over the midfield for the entire 45 minute to end the first half. Both teams missed goal-scoring opportunities and made brilliant saves to protect the score for the stipulated 90 minutes with 3 minutes additional time. Fans of visiting team, Accra Hearts of Oak came in their numbers as they had little hopes of winning but for a draw which got them jubilating. Coach of WAFA, Prosper Narteh who acknowledged his opponents tactical approach and how they created chances to fit their style of play said Hearts of Oak were lucky to have picked a point. “Even though they were defensive oriented in the game they came with a tactical approach and were able to create chances, they were just lucky” He said. Though both team managed a point, Hearts of Oak for the past five seasons haven’t had a win in Sogakofe against WAFA. Coach Narteh promises to pick positives ahead of their next game with Inters Allies FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday. Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Edward Odoom who hailed his players said they played according to instructions. “The positive was how my boys played to instructions they did what we told them to do” He said. Andrew Ntim Manu of WAFA was adjudged NASCO Man of the Match.
