Ghana's FIFAe national team, the Black Asteroids, have qualified for the inaugural FIFAe Continental Championship Africa featuring eFootball™ Console after an impressive qualification campaign in the FIFAe Nations League.

The Black Asteroids secured their place among Africa's top eight nations after accumulating sufficient Consistency Points throughout the FIFAe Nations League season and delivering strong performances during Qualifying Week 3.

Their qualification marks another significant milestone in the Ghana Football Association's commitment to developing esports and establishing Ghana as one of the continent's leading FIFAe nations.

The inaugural FIFAe Continental Championship Africa will be staged in Casablanca, Morocco, from 27–29 August 2026, with the eFootball™ Console competition scheduled for 28 August.

The tournament will bring together the continent's elite national teams to compete for Africa's first FIFAe continental crown while battling for qualification to the FIFAe World Cup 2026™.

The competition will feature eight African nations in a single round-robin format.

The top two teams at the end of the league phase will advance directly to the semi-finals, while the teams finishing third to sixth will contest the quarter-finals. With FIFAe World Cup qualification on the line, every fixture in Casablanca promises to be fiercely contested.

The Black Asteroids have continued to make remarkable progress on the international FIFAe stage over the past two years, building on strong performances in previous FIFAe competitions. Their qualification for the Continental Championship is a testament to the dedication of the players, technical team and the Ghana Football Association's continued investment in esports development.

Head Coach of the Black Asteroids, Emmanuel Lawson, said: "Qualifying for the FIFAe Continental Championship is a reward for the hard work, discipline and commitment the players have shown throughout the FIFAe Nations League campaign. Every member of this team embraced the challenge, and I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved together. We are grateful to the Ghana Football Association for its unwavering support and to all Ghanaians who have believed in us.  However, qualification is only the beginning. We are heading to Morocco with confidence, determination and one clear objective to qualify for the FIFAe World Cup 2026 and make history for Ghanaian esports."

General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo, expressed his delight at the team's qualification, saying: "We are delighted with the Black Asteroids' qualification for the FIFAe Continental Championship. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, commitment and professionalism shown by the players and technical team throughout the qualification process. On behalf of the Ghana Football Association, I congratulate everyone involved and wish the team every success as they prepare to represent Ghana in Morocco and compete for a place at the FIFAe World Cup."

Attention now turns to Casablanca, where the Black Asteroids will compete against Africa's finest in pursuit of continental glory and a place at the FIFAe World Cup 2026.
