President Kurt E.S Okraku mourns with Asante Kotoko over Nana Pooley's death

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, paid a visit to the Interim Management Committee and supporters' leadership of Asante Kotoko in Kumasi on Thursday February 20, 2025, to offer condolences and support over the the death of devoted fan, Yaw Frimpong, better known as Nana Pooley.

While expressing his deep appreciation for the warm reception, the President condemned strongly the brutal killing of the passionate fan.

He made a heartfelt plea for information to help identify and arrest the killer of Nana Pooley to ensure justice is served to bring some inner peace for the wife, family and Asante Kotoko in particular, and Ghana football in general.

“When that tragic act occurred in Nsoatre, there was someone present with the person who took Nana Pooley’s life. That person must be honest with football and reveal the killer’s identity. It’s a painful moment, but also an opportunity to make a positive impact on our game,” President Simeon- Okraku stated.

The show of solidarity from President Okraku underlines the importance of coming together to honor the memory of a passionate fan who contributed to the game and supported the growth of football in Ghana.
