After placing fourth in the CAF Women’s Champions League, Cote d’Ivoire 2023, two Ampem Darkoa Ladies players, Comfort Yeboah, Jennifer Owusuaa have been named in the tournament’s Best XI.
The Best XI includes players from winners Mamelodi Sundowns, runners-up, SC Casablanca, Bronze medalists AS FAR and Ampem Darkoa Ladies as announced by the CAF Technical Study Group who worked during the tournament in Ivory Coast.
Defender, Comfort Yeboah who has natural speed and technique and drove a number of attacks down the left for Ampem Darkoa in an impressive debut got nominated in the tournaments best back four.
Deputy captain, Jennifer Owusuaa who was certainly one of the shining stars for Ampem Darkoa also got nominated as one of the tournament’s best forwards.
Despite being her first CAF Women’s Champions League, Owusuaa showed great courage and tenacity in taking on defenders and capped her performance with a fine goal in the narrow semi-final loss to SC Casablanca.
The Ghana Football Association extends a big, big congratulations to both players and Ampem Darkoa for their stellar performance in the tournament.
