Ampem Darkoa Ladies on brink of title in Northern Zone – Preview

The record-breaking, history-making fourth straight Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League title is now Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ to lose after taking full control of the Northern Zone after last weekend’s 2-0 win at PearPia Ladies. The defending Champions return to the Ohene Ameyaw Stadium in Techiman to play Tamale Super Ladies in their quest to defend their League title. A win for the holders will make them champions of the Northern Zone for the fourth consecutive time with a game to spare. Second placed Northern Ladies who have been on the neck of the champions all season will play debutants, Fosu Royal Ladies whilst relegation threatened Pearlpia Ladies travel to Prisons Ladies.

SUPREME LADIES VRS KUMASI SPORTS ACADEMY

Supreme Ladies and Kumasi Sports Academy will lock horns in a local derby at the Bantama Astro Turf. Supreme Ladies are in the best form of their lives having gone three games without defeat whilst the visitors are struggling since their return to the top flight. Supreme Ladies have the upper hand against their opponent following a 3-0 win in the first round of the season. Meetings between both sides are unpredictable and keenly contested. Kumasi Sports Academy will go into this fixture in search of the three points to boost their survival.

 

PRISONS LADIES VRS PEARLPIA LADIES

Strugglers Pearlpia Ladies will travel to the Sunyani Coronation Park to play Prisons Ladies. The host have been a force at home having gone four games without defeat. A win against Pearlpia Ladies will brighten their chances of finishing in the top four. PearlPia Ladies would hope to avoid dropping points as another defeat or draw will end their stay in the top tier League.

ASHTOWN LADIES VRS DREAMZ LADIES

There is a local derby to look ahead to at the Bantama Astro turf when Dreamz Ladies lock horn with Ashtown Ladies. Ashtown Ladies are rooted at the bottom of the table with 16 points whilst the visitors are 3rd with 24 points, three points adrift of second placed Northern Ladies. Ashtown Ladies has a tough task at home looking at the current impressive form of Dreamz Ladies. The host will fight for the maximum points in order to save their season having bagged a paltry 14 points from a possible 48.

NORTHERN LADIES VRS FOSU ROYAL LADIES

Northern Ladies will have their top four ambitions tested again on Saturday following their recent away draw to Dreamz Ladies in Kumasi. Fosu Royal Ladies who have had a decent debut season will travel to Tamale with confidence after drawing with Regional rivals Prisons Ladies last weekend. Northern Ladies stand tall to win the game based on their current form and home record in the ongoing Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

AMPEM DARKOA LADIES VRS TAMALE SUPER LADIES

Defending champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies will play at home to Tamale Super Ladies at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman. The Champions have been inconsistent with their performances in recent weeks winning only once in their last three League matches. A win for the host will hand them the Northern Zone title for the fourth time on the spin whilst their host head into this fixture with an aim to avoid defeat to cement their position in the top half of the table.
