Assistant Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah says he is hopeful new members of the team will take their chances in Wednesday's friendly against Chile.
Ghana, without key players take on the South American side at the PPL Park in Philadelphia in a game Appiah thinks can mark a fresh start in the wake of their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final exit.
However, there are first call ups for midfielder Afriyie Acquah, Richard Mpong, Dominic Oduro, Abdul Majeed Waris and Patrick Nyarko while the Glo Premier League's top scorer, Emmanuel Baffour also aims to make his debut appearance.
"We have lots of players injured and others not here but it is a big opportunity to give the chance to others to show what they can do," Appiah said ahead of the game.
Getting the team back on track for crucial 2013 Nations Cup and the 2014 World Cup qualifying matches, according to Appiah begins with the game against Chile.
"We have got important tasks ahead of us, the Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers.
"It is important that we look at the mistakes at the 2012 Nations Cup and use this match as the opportunity to correct them," the assistant coach added.
