Basake Holy Stars, New Edubiase United record victories in Zone Two

Basake Holy Stars are two points clear at the top of the table in Zone Two after beating former Premier League side King Faisal 1-0 at Anyinase. Basake Holy Stars top scorer Bashiru Hussein Abdul’s 13th minute goal helped them grab the win to take them to 53 points – two points ahead of second placed New Edubiase United.

At the Dr. Kwasi Nduom Sports Complex - Elmina Sharks recorded a 4-3 victory over PAC Academy in a thrilling game. Dominic Eshun scored first for Elmina Sharks inside the 8th minute as Stephen Okai netted a brace in the 47th and 57th minutes to put Elmina Sharks in cruise control but PAC Academy staged a gallant comeback late on. Alhassan Adamu added the fourth goal in the 73rd minute to kake it 4-0 but Kwame Danquah responded with a hat trick in the 55th, 81st and 87th minutes for PAC Academy but that wasn’t enough as Elmina Sharks held on to win the contest.

Elsewhere, former Premier League side New Edubiase United thrashed Asekem FC 2-0 at home to keep their top-flight pursuit alive in Zone Two. Emmanuel Marfo and Abdul Mumin Alhassan scored inside the 36th and 66th minutes to secure all the spoils for New Edubiase United.
