Head of Ghana’s National U-19 Technical Team, Coach Karim Zito, led a successful scouting mission in Bolgatanga, in the Upper East Region, identifying ten promising young players during the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta.

The surprise appearance of Coach Zito and his technical team at the Mobil Astroturf Football Field on Thursday, April 10, 2025, was a welcome one, as local football fans and community teams were excited to see a national team scout at work in their region for the first time.

The quarter-final games featured intense matchups between Pobaga vs Tindonsobligo and Bolga-Soe vs Zaare, serving as the perfect stage for the young talents to impress. Coach Zito’s sharp eye scanned every inch of the pitch as he and his team observed with interest, looking for raw talent to develop for the U-19 setup.

Ten standout players were scouted from the games:

  • Francis Atiah (Zaare) – electrifying footwork
  • Evan Nsoh (Tindonsobligo) – midfield command and control
  • Joshua Adedina (Tindonsobligo) – solid defensive display
  • Leonard Korimo (Tindonsobligo) – dominant aerial presence
  • Yakubu Sanuni (Pobaga) – speed and agility on the wings
  • Akolgo Moses (Pobaga) – clinical goal scorer
  • Tabaaya Ezekiel, Atanga Stephen, Agominaab Danladi, and Osman Hakeem (Zaare) – excellent all-round performances
  • Akolbila Donatus (Soe) – strategic and intelligent play

Coach Zito expressed his delight at the level of talent on display, commending the players for their energy, discipline, and enthusiasm. He emphasized the importance of extending scouting programs to all corners of the country, ensuring every talented child has the opportunity to be seen.

“The level of skill here is truly impressive. The Ramadan Soccer Fiesta is not just a tournament; it’s a goldmine for Ghana football,” he noted.

The visit marks a historic moment for the region, as it was the first time a national youth team’s technical team had undertaken a scouting mission in Bolgatanga. With this effort, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) continues to broaden its search for talent, leaving no region behind.

As the dust settles from the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta quarter-finals, these ten youngsters now stand at the threshold of a potential journey into national football. Their dreams have been given wings — all under the watchful eyes of one of Ghana’s most experienced youth coaches.
