FIFA Talent Identification Expert Laban Scott Libby has commended the coaches who participated in the recently concluded Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship, held over ten days in Prampram.

Organised by the association, the tournament saw the Volta Region emerge as champions following an intense 3-2 victory over Ashanti Region in the final match.

Scott, who attended the championship to oversee talent identification efforts, shared his admiration for the performance of all ten regional teams. He praised the regional coaches for their dedication and hard work, recognising their pivotal role in nurturing young talents and helping players reach their potential.

“All ten regions showcased incredible talent, and I was impressed with each of them. The coaches gave their all from day one, and many players have shown that they have what it takes to represent the national teams in the future,” Scott stated.

“This has been a great competition, bringing young talents together for the first time in the U15 Boys Championship. It’s not only an opportunity to scout the best but also to highlight Ghana’s immense football potential. The future is bright.”

The U15 Elite Boys Championship, part of FIFA’s Talent Identification Scheme, aimed at identifying and nurturing football talents worldwide.

This initiative provides a platform for young players to showcase their skills and for scouts to identify future stars. In July, the GFA hosted a similar Elite U15 Girls Championship at the same venue, reinforcing its commitment to prioritising talent identification across genders.

The championship in Prampram brought together regional teams from across Ghana, embodying the association’s dedication to youth football development and laying the foundation for the next generation of Ghanaian football stars. Scott’s commendation of the coaches reflects the hard work and passion invested by all stakeholders in making the event a success.
