Ghana will take their place in Group B and will be based in Port Elizabeth for their group campaign at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Kwesi Appiah's side are one of four seeded nations and will be based in the Eastern Cape Province with DR Congo, Niger and Mali.
Hosts South Africa are placed automatically in Group A in Durban with Cape Verde, Morocco, Angola.
Holders Zambia are placed in Group C with Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Nigeria with Nelspruit as their base.
In Group D, Ivory Coast housed will be housed in Rustenburg together with Algeria, Tunisia, Togo.
Dignitaries at the draw in Durban on Wednesday included South Africa President Jacob Zuma, Confederation of African Football President Issa Hayatou and Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Nelspruit, Rustenburg, Port Elizabeth, Durban and Johannesburg are the host cities for the Cup of Nations.
South Africa will kick off the event on 19 January against Cape Verde at Johannesburg's FNB Stadium, formerly known as Soccer City. The same venue which was used for the World Cup final, will host the final.
The tournament ends on 10 February 2013.
