Kwesi Appiah insists the Black Stars will maintain their course despite injuries ruling out some members of the squad for the World Cup qualifying playoff against Egypt.

John Boye and Jonathan Mensah are out through injury with Harrison Afful suspended for the first-leg tie on Tuesday in Kumasi.

But Appiah believes their absence has not left a void rather it has presented an opportunity for other members of the squad to step in and just carry on with normal duties.

"This is one area that I have always been striving to improve in the team. Since taking over, I have been bringing in more players so that we are not dependent on just a few," Kwesi Appiah told www.ghanafa.org.

The Ghana coach has the hailed the collective strength of his team.

"In football, you will always get to a stage where you will be missing some players but it's the planning and reaction that shows how good or bad the management of the situation is.

"And if other players had not been given the opportunity and used, it would have been very difficult at this moment. Fortunately for us, we have a very strong group that we can always depend on," said the Black Stars coach.

Appiah explains that he will not be tinkering with tactical formations as personnel changes with Ghana pushing for a third consecutive appearance at the World Cup.

"No experimentation would be made. We are not going to experiment, we have a clear goal and we know what we want to achieve," he said.

"All the players have had playing times with the team, so it's not going to be a new team. Let's see what everyone can do given the chance."

Ghana will host Egypt in the first leg on October 15 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi with the return leg in Cairo on November 19.

The aggregate winner qualifies for next year's finals in Brazil.
