Al-Ain striker Asamoah Gyan must make a decision on whether he wants to return to international duty before Kwesi Appiah will consider him for the Black Stars.
The new Ghana coach has told www.ghanafa.org that he has held talks with the player, who announced his temporal retirement from the national team after the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Kwesi Appiah insists that it’s Gyan’s call to make.
“I have spoken to Asamoah Gyan on two occasions hoping that he will come back. No one can doubt his quality. He is a very good player who will be a good addition to our plans if he is available to us.
“But it’s up to him to make that decision,” the Black Stars coach told www.ghanafa.org.
Also the Black Stars coach confirmed that efforts will be made to try and convince AC Milan’s Kevin-Prince Boateng to make a Ghana return.
“We will always try to use the best players available. But like I said, the decision will rest with Kevin and if chooses to rescind his decision to make a return, we will be happy,” Kwesi Appiah said.
