Sekondi based Hasaacas Ladies beat Ampem Darkoa Ladies 2-0 in the final of the Women’s FA Cup to secure a historic double on Saturday.
The win is the second for Hasaacas Ladies in one week following a 4-0 thumping of the latter in the final of the Women’s Premier League last Saturday.
Ampem Darkoa came into the game with an eye on a revenge to redeem their image as the team started well by dominating play.
Both teams kept the pressure high until Doris Boaduwaa gave Hasaacas Ladies the lead in the 25th minute after a scintillating team play.
Ampem Darkoa ladies kept pushing for the equaliser but Milot Pokuaa deepened their woes when she scored the second goal in the 33rd minute.
Hasaacas ladies went into half time with a 2-0 lead.
After the recess, Ampem Darkoa improved their game as they kept searching for an equaliser but the defence of Hasaacas Ladies made things difficult for them
Goalkeeper Grace Banwa of Hasaacas Ladies stood tall to deny Ampem Darkoa Ladies a goal – as she pulled some stupendous saves much to the delight of teaming fans.
Sonia Opoku set up a nice pass to Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah in the 55th minute who couldn’t bury the chance.
Ampem Daekoa Ladies who had a tall mountain to climb then made a substitution when Jackline Opoku came on for Priscilla Okyere in the 69th minute.
They quickly made another substitution when Patience Kundok made way for Latifa Abesik on the 71st minute.
Hasaacas Ladies quickly responded with a substitution, when they took off goal scorer, Doris Boaduwaa for Success Ameyaa on the 79th minute.
Ampem Darkoa surged forward for a consolation but a resolute Hasaacas Ladies defence made sure they kept a clean sheet as the game eventually ended 2:0 - with Hasaacas Ladies clinching the ultimate.
They ended the season with two trophies with an historic double – a boost for their participation in the African Women’s Champions League.
Sonia Opoku of Ampem Darkoa Ladies was adjudged the best player of the match.
