KGL U17 Colts: Eastern Region take on Volta Region for place in Championship Final

Eastern Region will square off with Volta Region for a place in the final of the 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship on Tuesday August 6, 2024.

The two impressive sides will face each other at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram in Tuesday's second semi-final match.

Eastern Region started off their campaign in the talent identification Championship with a 1-0 win over Upper West Region, lost by same scoreline to Greater Accra, recovered in style to beat Western Region and Upper East Region,  1-0 and 2-0 respectively to emerge Group B winners.

Volta Region on the other hand, started off brilliantly by thrashing Central Region 3-0, beat Ashanti Region 2-0, lost 5-4 on penalties to Northern Region after a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time before succumbing to Brong Ahafo 1-0 to finish second in Group A.

The stage is now set for a massive clash between the two sides in Tuesday's second semi-final match, which kicks off at 14:00 GMT (2pm local time) at the GFA technical centre at Prampram.

The winner will face off with either Northern Region or Western Region in the final of the 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship on Thursday August 8, 2024 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

The matches of the Championships are being telecast live to various platforms including the GFA Official Facebook page and Max TV.

The KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship, launched in 2021, has been an avenue for talent discovery for clubs, particularly Premier and Division One League clubs, with several players being beneficiaries of the esteemed competition.

The ten Regional Football Associations have selected the best U17 players from their Colts competitions to represent their regions in the Championship which is aimed at identifying, training and developing young talents for the national youth teams.
